HUNTINGTON WINE CELLARS ANNOUNCES OPENING OF TASTING ROOM IN HEALDSBURG

Healdsburg, Ca. – Huntington Wine Cellars announced today the opening of its new tasting room in Sonoma County. The tasting room, located in the ‘Old Roma Station’ building near downtown in Healdsburg, will be the first-ever tasting room for Huntington. The opening date has been set for August 21st. President, Bill Leigon says, “The opening of our tasting room and hospitality center marks a major step forward for Huntington. Now we have a permanent home located in Healdsburg, the heart of Sonoma Wine Country. We are planning many future events in conjunction with our vineyard partners.”

A bonded Sonoma County winery since 1989, Huntington has been owned by Leigon since 1996, and has grown in case sales from 3,000 to nearly 15,000 cases. With greater consumer demand, the tasting room is a natural evolution for Huntington at a time when consumer interest in direct sales and wine clubs is high. Leigon feels that this outlet will be a great opportunity to introduce consumers to Huntington, spurring growth in volume and additional varietals. The new tasting room coincides with the complete package re-design that Huntington underwent earlier this year.

Huntington wines are produced from small lots of select varietal grapes from several unique vineyard sources in Northern California. The Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Napa Valley are home to the grapes that produce Huntington Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The steady sources of premium fruit under contract to Huntington ensure that the wines consistently represent estate-bottled quality. Referring to itself as a ‘Producteur’ (French term meaning ‘producer’) – the wines of Huntington are crafted by celebrated winemaker Kerry Damskey, using its own French and American oak barrels and the state-of-the-art winemaking facilities at the Sonoma Wine Company in Graton.
